Neutering

Rescue are taking in more half Siamese again. This is due to owners not spaying or neutering before letting their pets outside.

Males and females will spray if not neutered, some males will also spray after neutering.

Reputable breeders are hard to find. At the time I stopped I could count on one hand those I wanted to have one of my lovely Siamese kittens in the cat fancy.

Maybe breeders should take more care who they are selling to.
Unwanted cats are a growing problem. It must be stressed to new  owners that Siamese are very fruitful, they will come into season at four months. Having been a breeder myself, I feel you are responsible for what you produce. The facts are:

  • Males will go hunting for a female as young as six months. Many Siamese are lost this way because they are allowed out before being neutered.
  • A female could have a litter from a stray cat, resulting in a Caesarean and a large vets bill.
  • Unless wanted for breeding it is vital for your cat to be neutered or spayed as soon as he or she is old enough.
